someting for a friend

i just want to say, for people reblogging this, that this is called the “rule of thirds” and the tips i wrote here by no means are things that you HAVE to do! these are just tips i use for myself, i kind of made up the bubble rule and i dont even know if im using the rule right haha so there theres that! i just like to use it so i know my bubbles have a place to go

examples of me using rule of thirds to separate elements in “Rachael and Penny”

i got the information a long time ago from a thread on penciljack called Storytelling 101, specifically this image
there is tons of information on rule of thirds available, i know eyecager has a post that dips into it ….

Anonymous asked: Hey when do these meetings for the club happen? The fliers passed around campus said Sept. 15 and every other Wednesday, but 9/15 is on a Saturday. Were those just outdated?

Oh, haha, no they’re not outdated. The dates on the flier covered all of the club meetings (every other wednesday, roughly) AND the extra-club activities we have (which are indicated by being bolded/starred)

September 15 was our SPX trip, which happens on a Saturday. It’s not a meeting so much as a SqArt club hosted trip. Same thing with 24 comic day, which is a Mica SqArt club event that is hosted from Saturday/Sunday. All the non-bolded dates are normal meeting times (Wednesdays).

Hopefully this clarifies things!

Round Robin part 3

Round Robin part 2

These are the Round Robins completed at our first sequential arts meeting! Some of these are real whack. This is part 1.

What we did was pass around a piece of paper and everyone had 3-5 minutes to draw one panel. There were a couple prompts we used (panel 2 = “strange uses for a thong” and panel 5 = “put MICA somewhere in the panel”).
